Stachytarpheta jamaicensis (L.) Vahl.

Pecut kuda (Stachytarpheta jamaicensis) is an upright herb up to 50 cm tall of the Verbenaceae family, a wild plant native to tropical America often considered a weed in agricultural land. Despite this, the plant is traditionally believed to be able to treat various health disorders. Pecut kuda is used to address urinary tract infections, rheumatism, and to promote menstruation.

Found in bright as well as shaded areas protected from sunlight at elevations of 1-1,500 m above sea level. Pecut kuda widely grows wild in vacant land, mountain slopes, house yards, roadsides, forest edges, and agricultural land.

• Fruit line-shaped, has two seeds.
• Seeds needle-shaped, black in color.
